Context & Background
A Mandate for Speed at Scale — In a Regulated, Zero-Error Environment
The client is a major financial institution operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with operations spanning retail banking, corporate banking, credit card services, trade finance, and regulatory compliance. The organisation recognised that a significant proportion of its operational workload was being handled manually — creating capacity constraints, inconsistency risks, and exposure to human error in processes where accuracy was non-negotiable.
The mandate was clear and non-negotiable: automate 200 banking processes using Blue Prism RPA within six months. The scope included highly sensitive banking functions — Call Centre workflows, Credit Card processing, Trade Finance back-office operations, Compliance Reporting, and a range of support functions. Failure was not an option in a regulated financial environment where process errors carry direct financial, legal, and reputational consequences.
From day one, the scale of the programme was extraordinary: IFS ERP needed to be implemented across all core business functions including Procurement, Inventory, Finance, HR, Production, Maintenance, and Project Management. Simultaneously, the platform needed to be integrated with six distinct third-party engineering and operational systems. A custom Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) platform had to be designed and built from scratch. And an enterprise RPA programme needed to automate manual processes across HR, Finance, and Operations. All of this, concurrently, at a facility that was itself still under construction.

Programme Challenges
- Aggressive delivery timeline: 200 processes in 6 months across multiple banking functions simultaneously
- Zero tolerance for production incidents in a regulated, customer-facing banking environment
- Complex process landscape spanning call centre, credit card, trade finance, and compliance functions — each with distinct workflows, data sensitivity requirements, and regulatory implications
- Change management and business readiness across multiple banking departments with varying levels of RPA awareness
- Governance and reporting requirements aligned with the institution’s own IT governance board and senior leadership expectations

Our Approach
Sprint Governance, Hypercare Protocols, and Stakeholder Orchestration
The founding advisor structured the programme as a high-velocity delivery operation governed through a rigorous fortnightly sprint cadence. Each sprint cycle covered process blueprint approval, development oversight, testing sign-off, and deployment readiness confirmation — with a dedicated RAID log, change register, and escalation pathway maintained throughout.

Each sprint cycle covered process blueprint approval, development oversight, testing sign-off, and deployment readiness confirmation — with a dedicated RAID log, change register, and escalation pathway maintained throughout.
Programme governance reporting was structured to serve two distinct audiences: weekly operational status reports for IT programme leadership, and a monthly executive dashboard for the institution’s senior management and IT governance board — each calibrated to the appropriate level of detail and risk visibility.
Outcomes & Achievements
- 200 banking processes automated and deployed to production within the six-month Phase 1 commitment — on time and within budget
- Programme extension immediately awarded upon Phase 1 completion, adding over 200 additional processes across expanded banking functions
- Zero critical production incidents attributable to governance or change management failures across the deployment lifecycle
- Structured UAT and hypercare protocols ensured seamless transition of automated processes into live banking operations
- Full executive visibility maintained through the programme lifecycle, with governance board reporting aligned to the institution’s standards
- Programme recognised internally as a benchmark for large-scale RPA delivery within the institution
